What Are Sandbags Used For During a Hurricane?

How To Use Sandbags For a Hurricane

The best way to sandbags to increase protection against the elements is to lay them flat. You can lay them down against the main entry points the same way you would lie down bricks. Stagger the sandbags in a tight row to ensure you fill in any gaps. Simply start at one end and lay them in a row, tucking each end of the sandbag under the next one. If you lay them on top of one another, pat each one down flat before you lay the next one on top. You should aim for at least 1 foot high if you’re placing them along the garage floor or entry point.
